As i often say to clients: you are the best expert on yourself. PCT sees the therapist and client as equal partners. In order for a client’s condition to improve, I am warm, genuine and understanding. I encourage clients to focus on their current perception of their life and investigate how they live in the here-and-now.
Based on the Self-concept, we explore the ideas and values that characterize ‘I’ and ‘me’ including the perceptions of ‘what I am’ and ‘what I can do’. The closer your self- image and your ideal-self are to each other, the more consistent you are and the higher your sense of self-worth.
Who can it help?
People who have the ability to communicate, to remain in the present, and to put the past into perspective. It helps people with relationship difficulties. Having the need to clarify your idea of Self, enhances self-esteem and self-worth.
So for issues such as bullying, all types of abuse, judgemental and controlling parents/caregivers, cultural and religious perceptions, anxiety, panic and depression.
